Bat Kol Institute has assembled an experienced group of lecturers, combining recognized scholarship and international teaching experience in a number of accredited universities around the world.

Gail Diamond, A.B. (Religion), M.H.L., Master of Hebrew Literature. Rabbi Diamond was ordained in 1993 by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She was Rabbi of a congregation in Attleboro, Massachusetts until 2000 when she immigrated to Israel. She is presently Assistant Director of a Conservative Yeshiva adult education program in Jerusalem.

 

Jack G. Driscoll, C.F.C., B.S., M.S., Ph.D. ( Columbia University ). President Emeritus, Iona College, New York, where he was professor for many years, Dr. Driscoll is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, and Director of Development for Bat Kol. He continues to travel widely, lecturing on behalf of the Institute in countries such as India and South Africa.

 

Maureena P. Fritz, N.D.S., B.A., B.Ed., M.A., Ph.D. (Ottawa University), Professor Emerita, Faculty of Theology, University of St. Michael's College, University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Fritz was founding director and professor for the English-language program of the Christian Center of Jewish Studies, Ratisbonne Center, Jerusalem. She has published several books. She founded Bat Kol Institute in 1983, is President Emerita and serves as Academic Director.

 

Sarah Israeli, B.A., M.A. in Hebrew Language (Hebrew University) where she continues to teach Biblical and Modern Hebrew as a second language. She trains teachers, and has written Hebrew language text books. She has lectured and presented workshops in Israel and abroad on the teaching of Hebrew.

 

Pierre Lenhardt, N.D.S., B.A. (Talmud), M.A. (Philosophy/Theology), Advanced Studies in Biblical Languages, Faculty Emeritus, Ratisbonne Pontifical Institute, Jerusalem, where he was also Academic Director. Bro. Lenhardt's academic focus in Biblical Languages has provided him with numerous opportunities for lecturing in the broad area of Jewish Studies in Israel, Europe, and North America.

 

Pesach Schindler, B.A., M.S., Ph.D. (New York University), Rabbinic Ordination (Jewish Theological Seminary), Assistant Professor, Hebrew University. Rabbi Schindler has lectured in institutions such as Ratisbonne Pontifical Institute and the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem, and at the University of Toronto School of Theology.

 

Mordechai Silverstein, B.A., M.A., Ph.D. (cand., Hebrew University), Rabbinic Ordination (Jewish Theological Seminary), Lecturer, Hebrew University. Rabbi Silverstein taught for a number of years at Ratisbonne Pontifical Institute, and is currently an instructor at both the Conservative Yeshiva and Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

 

Levi Weiman-Kelman, B.A., M.H.L., Rabbinic Ordination (Jewish Theological Seminary), Lecturer, Hebrew Union College, Jerusalem; and Rabbi of Kol HaNeshama Synagogue [Progressive Judaism/ Reform] in Jerusalem. Rabbi Weiman-Kelman lectures at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem, and also internationally. He is active with Rabbis for Human Rights.

 

Deborah Weissman, B.A., M.A., Ph.D. Dr Weissman, born and raised in the US, settled in Jerusalem in 1972. Since then she has completed a doctorate at the Hebrew University on the social history of Jewish women's education and has been involved in religious feminism, teacher training, and interfaith work.

 

Aharon Zinger, Ph.D., Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he also received his doctorate. Rabbi Singer teaches Midrash at Machon Schecter in Jerusalem, at the University of Toronto School of Theology, and at the Rothberg International School in Hebrew University. His latest article is, "God Mourned: Biblical Tracings of a Midrashic Text."
